Check Charging System warning

Hi all,

I got my battery replaced today but unfortunately the mechanic broke a sensor attached on the battery. Since then my Check Charging System warning light has been on.

Does anyone know what this sensor is and if its safe to continue to drive until I get it fixed next week? I’m afraid the battery might not be charging and hence draining it.

If you measure 14.4+ Volts while the car is on, you are good...

However, I am not sure how this will affect the smart alternators on these cars.
Hopefully, it will just keep on pumping out 14.4 volts as a fail safe.

Thanks, as long as it’s charging I guess I’m fine with it. Was just worried that it might not be charging

I will never bring my car to these place to fix a real issue, if they can't replace a battery.......

Yes and for free.

And who knows if this mechanic, when servicing the car, will not break something else and make it pass with the part to replace at the expense of the customer ?
