If somebody is serious about getting a specific wheel for the Type R like I would be....
I have been talking about getting this wheel for some cars now. But since I don't have a type R yet, I can't measure to see if it will fit.
Braid can do custom spec wheels. Their Full race AC (concaved version) of the regular Full race comes in at 18x8.5, custom offset (i would make it 60 just like OEM). Cost $485 per wheel.
I was on the FocusRS forums and they confirmed a 17 inch wheel fits.

"Paul at Braid USA sent me 17x8, 17x7 and 17x6.5 profiles and they all cleared the calipers by at least a few mm out to +40 offset. So I went ahead and had a 17x6.5" +40 made, shipped across the pond arriving last Friday and true to the profile it fits! "
I'm just presenting this as that is the route I would go for when I am to get 18 inch wheels for the Type R , but still want to keep OEM spec to maintain geometry.
