What are you guys searching for to find the head unit and what are decent prices?

I searched for the part number on eBay and saw some, but they seemed closer to 500 and up.
I got lucky and got mine out of junkyard from 2020 Sport Sedan for about $200ish on ebay

Keep looking, there is always one who wants to get rid of it for cheap

Same here - roughly 200ish for a sedan unit. I did end up getting my data cable from a local Honda dealer and plan to install tomorrow AM.

If I get head unit, and the previous owner no longer has the car or anything theft code, is there a way I can obtain it?
I got mine off ebay, seller had no idea what I was talking about when I asked about security code

I just took VIN they listed on their ad on ebay, took serial number of my new head unit and put everything in https://radio-navicode.honda.com/
Confirmed my contact info and 2 seconds later got the code, easy

Add me to another happy Zed harness customer - Alright!!!!! The whole install time took about 2 hours for me, but I was being anal and wrapping / zip tieing the harnesses behind the unit.
In case anyone wants a sure shot reverse wire trigger for a Manual car - you can use the mint green wire on the green connector behind the drivers kick panel, and the dash is actually easier to remove than the scuff panels:

Hello CivicX, I have come up with a wiring harness to upgrade from the 5 inch radio to the 7 inch radio more easily. Previously, those seeking out this DIY would have to look at wiring diagrams, crimp, solder and modify their existing vehicle wiring. This solution allows for mostly plug and play compatibility.

This harness has you covered whether you want to add the reverse camera, AM/FM tuner, or just use the radio without these features.

Includes main wiring harness, AM/FM Tuner to Antenna Cable, and Reverse Wire Cable.

Harnesses are assembled by myself in California.

PM me if you would like to purchase one, depending on how high the demand is, you may be placed on a waitlist.

Witaj CivicX, wymyśliłem wiązkę przewodów, aby łatwiej uaktualnić radio z 5-calowego do 7-calowego. Wcześniej ci, którzy szukali tego majsterkowania, musieli przeglądać schematy okablowania, zaciskać, lutować i modyfikować istniejące okablowanie pojazdu. To rozwiązanie pozwala w większości na kompatybilność plug and play.

Ta uprząż zapewni Ci ochronę, niezależnie od tego, czy chcesz dodać kamerę cofania, tuner AM/FM, czy po prostu korzystać z radia bez tych funkcji.

Zawiera główną wiązkę przewodów, kabel z tunera AM/FM do anteny i kabel z odwróconą żyłą.

Uprzęże montuję sam w Kalifornii.

PM do mnie, jeśli chcesz go kupić, w zależności od tego, jak duże jest zapotrzebowanie, możesz zostać umieszczony na liście oczekujących.

I made a new thread on this but figured this might be a good place to check with folks who have done this mod.

I installed mine (seems to be a 2016 head unit and a 2018 screen with the knob) into a 2019 hatch sport. Brightness controls don’t work, and the headlights don’t affect screen brightness. Has anyone seen this and fixed it, or has anyone used the newer knob-style screen and has it work okay? Everything else seems to be okay.

PS thanks zed for the harness!

Mine is a 2017 stereo and car 2019. Everything works perfectly fine including the steering buttons all of them.

This is a known issue with trying to retrofit the 2018 screen with knob into a 2016 head unit. The screen with knob would only work with head units that came with the screen with knob already.

Yo I couldnt find exactly where this wire is for a manual. Is it the panel right below the steering wheel? How do you take this off?

when looking at the dash from the drivers seat it is directly behind the tpms / stability control buttons.

To remove the panel you basically pull towards the drivers seat, just be careful of the air temp sensor on the right side of the wheel on the panel behind the 3 slits.

Thanks Zed. The harness works great. I had a hard time with my first radio I tried it with. First one kept giving me a flashing green/red/blue light when ever I touched the screen. The second radio I got on ebay for 100 and worked after everything was plugged in. The only thing I didn't finish was the back up cam.

when looking at the dash from the drivers seat it is directly behind the tpms / stability control buttons.

To remove the panel you basically pull towards the drivers seat, just be careful of the air temp sensor on the right side of the wheel on the panel behind the 3 slits.
I'll try this spot in the morning. Thanks for the help.
