  1. Brake makes loud click

Yes, the pads are not the exact size to the caliper bracket so to slide and not seize. However, sometimes the tolerance is a bit wide and they will move with enough slop to cause a noise as they move up and down in the brackets when the pads engage the rotor due to friction. It’s common with...
  2. Baby on the way - Backseat protection?

You really shouldn’t use anything beneath a car seat; when they eventually hit rear facing you can get a seat back protector for their feet etc but I haven’t had any issues with seat dirtyness until the rear facing toddler started having their feet hit the seat back. if you get anything for the...
  3. Tesla wheel lugs

I second this aluminum lugs nuts and bolts are trash. They loosen unexpectedly, expand more with heat than steel, and are actually trash after a few torque cycles. The gram strategy of aluminum fasteners is marketing, and yes anodized hardware looks cool but that’s about the end of it.
  4. Stock wiper blade housing - do they last long?

Mine are in a late 2017 build 2018 MY car - no issues. I’ve replaced the inserts only 3 times as well. They by far outlast any aftermarket wiper and are significantly cheaper if you buy in bulk online for the shipping hit
  5. Can I daily 5w-30 oil?

I love oil threads because inevitably it comes down to personal opinion and perceiving things that aren’t real with the ear and butt dynos. There’s no way 0w30 would make the car run or sound any way different than 0w20 unless the engine was in some way, shape, or form failing and your...
  6. Can I daily 5w-30 oil?

Objectively no. Especially if you are changing the synthetic at 4k miles, you’ll gain nothing from any potential “better” oil unless again you are racing the car and getting the oil to conditions that promote shear and viscosity breakdown with heat. you already paid for the oil why pay for...
  7. Can I daily 5w-30 oil?

5w30 is spec in non US markets iirc. 0w20 is an eco blend for friction efficiency for fleet fuel economy. 5w30 is fine in the engine.
  8. Big Swap 2.0T into little tiny Si?

This is recommended for when you refuse to buy a type r because the sunk cost fallacy of the si being cheaper with a swap than trading in and buying a type r - even though the r has the better chassis and brake biasing from factory which is not addressed with an engine /drivetrain swap. if you...
  9. Big Swap 2.0T into little tiny Si?

The type r engine and the accord engine are the same external size. It’s the same engine, just de rated and with other various parts to make it cheaper to mfg / hit the accord power and emissions targets vs the type r.
  10. Civic 1.5T sport hatch stage 1 issue

I would be careful with what is being done to the car. First it is completely normal to lose power closer to redline on these cars, the turbo runs out of breath. second, to 200 to 215 is within 7% of margin. It’s possible your car is just not responding to the tune well. It happens. honestly...
  11. METALLURGY AND CHASSIS BRACING

It’s subjective. Steel will deflect less under load at a thinner bar tube wall vs aluminum, leading to a thicker tube wall aluminum bar if hollow that may weigh more or less the same as the steel bar. it depends on alum and steel grade, and how hard you are pushing the car.
  12. New owner of a 2019 that wont move.

Noise could till be the trans, disconnecting the input from the engine will still have the trans moving from the wheels in gear, unless you are removing the car from gear as well when you test it. Might want to get a new trans in before throwing parts at tires/bearings etc.
  13. Tree fell on my car

Makes sense. If the doors still Open and shut as normal you most likely don’t have frame damage. The problem is the shell of the roof may have buckled a bit, which only a body shop can determine.
  14. Tree fell on my car

Sorry to burst your bubble but they most likely did lol. Your first 2000+ honda? Lol
  15. Tree fell on my car

That’s a bad way to measure if the frame is bent, the window was probably installed off center. If the window moved that much, the seal would either have to be broken, or the window would shatter. Frames are measured from reference points underneath the car, and along the rear bumper
  16. Possibly missing from suspension component

They are bonded to the OEM bar. I haven’t heard of sway bar bushings being bad on a 10th gen yet. Wonder if it is aftermarket. Did they send you photos?
  17. 2019 sport hatchback stereo upgrade

2019+ but watch for the ones with factory amp. good rule of thumb, if it has the navigation button on the screen face, it has a factory amp.
  18. *CLUTCH WARNING - 10th GEN CIVIC SI's/MT's*

I mean you upgraded to the type r setup. It’s not deficient, it’s built to purpose. You could have purchased the type r and had a fine car from factory, or the option was to purchase an economy spec car, with refinement and emissions in the forefront. There is nothing “wrong” with the OEM...
