Right? That 8yr/120k miles helps me sleep at night. I Dont wanna throw that away without serious consideration.
Yeah, well, I opted for 7 year/200,00 kms - based on the mileage I drive, they will be up around the same time. ;)

You remember that time they released a change to the car where the gearing was different so it should accelerate quicker and after piles of reviews... no one released an instrumented test to show by how much?

Yeah. Me too. :rolleyes1:

Making the gearing shorter will definitely increase acceleration, but will affect top speed. Many 2020 owners are reporting that at 70 mph their rpms are are nearly at 3000 while 2017-2019 don't see this rpm until around 80 mph. They will also see more power at cruising speeds because of the smaller gearing
I just gauged my 2020 Si 75mph right at 3k RPM.

They should test the car. Car & Drive has 6.3 and 14.8. Which is the same time as the 2017. Basically they stamped the same time on their write up without road testing the car.

Here is a spreadsheet of vehicle traveling speed per every 100 RPM for every gear, and a comparison between 2020 vs. 2017-2019 Si models assuming they're both on stock tires.

So clearly, if you want a 200mph+ Si you gotta go with the 17-19

Taller gears work better with higher boost. In stock form the shorter gearing is an improvement.

Also, are there any weight differences? The 2020 has all that driver safety tech. All online resources are showing the same curb weight

Perhaps the 2020 wheels are saving some weight? Probably not but thats my only guess lol

Oh, let's just be honest and point out that nearly none of the people "complaining" about the top speed are going to be driving 200 mph and those who do won't be getting back to us because they're going to be dead or in jail.

The Civic Si 200 mph club - at 1000 rpm over redline - will be shocked to know that the 2.0T Accord 10-speed auto maxes out at 280.8 at its 6500 rpm redline!

This was my 2020 Si the other night at a steady 70mph.
