Does anyone know how much the shift knob for the six-speed manual transmission non-Si Civics weighs? Here is a photo of the shift knob I'm asking about:

Take it off and weigh it
The photo I used above was taken off the internet; it's not my car. I own an Si, which has a different style knob. I am thinking of switching to the knob used on the 6 speed LX Civics, but before I do I'd like to compare weights, as that affects the feel.

I doubt the weight of your shift knob will be noticeable; from a Si to a LX there can’t be that much. What you might want to look at is a short shifter or those bushings you can install on the trans cables to “tighten” up the shifts ?

Ha! Funny story. You remember the posts about the Easter egg thingy?
Well, I didn't get that, since I have an LX. However, they did leave me with a loose shifter knob just like your pic. I'll weigh it for you when I get home. Thought I had a 12 speed :)

My Easter egg.
Found it rolling under the seats shortly after buying the car.
It weighs 183.4 grams.

Thanks very much for taking the time to weigh that extra shift knob you found in your car!

No problem. I was probably the best option to weigh one, since I didn't need to remove anything.

You need to post back and let us know the weight difference, I’m very curious to know if there’s a significant difference.

I was interested in possibly using the LX shift knob in my car because it has a shape that looks like it would be comfortable to use. I actually ended up buying something entirely different, an aftermarket knob of a type that I have not seen used on our cars yet; I'll soon upload photos of it installed.

Not sure if it’s exactly the same but my EX-T shift knob is 180g.
