shifting at 3k minimum. the engine really bags not to shift early, it really likes those 3K+ rpm. please, give your engine what it wants!!!!

I did some testing and tried shifting at those recommended shift points. I was surprised I could up-shift at such low mph/rpm. I was shifting into 6th at 40 mph. I hate it though, what's the point? Have to at least get to 2500 minimum. I may do this for a while longer during the break-in period but then I will be driving it much higher and harder...

Another thing I have always shifted at certain rpm, while ignoring mph. Will do that again once the break-in is over. I like to shift around 2500-3000 generally, but also push it harder of course.

I always shift between 3-4k RPM, what's the fun in driving Turbo MT like a granny.

Fuel economy is nice to have. I shift out of each gear around 2000rpms which enters the next gear at 1500rpms. Wind up in 6th gear around 40-45mph. Obviosuly downshift and punch it when I need/want to go faster. Driving like this I average between 36-42mpg for an entire tank of fuel. 2017 SI Sedan 93 octane

The overlap on the gears is huge. I go from 3rd to 5th all the time!

one thing I don't get is I've got the N.A. 2.0 6mt and as far as I can tell the IVTEC doesn't kick in until over 6500rpm in third gear. What good is that since at that point you're so far over the speed limit and the engine is screaming so loud you're bound to attract the attention of every cop within a mile. Every time I've tried to do it I chickened out and backed off because I think I was doing over 75mph.

To me, VTEC engagement changes with the gear. When engine is up to temp, VTEC does not engage on first, 6500 on 2nd, 6100 on 3rd, 5800 on 4th, well I'm not about to find out for 5th and 6th.

Important to note that the recommended shift points are lower on the 1.5t over the 2.0 engine.

VTEC doesn't really engage at all when engine is cold, which is sort of what I expect.
