Where/how to setup aftermarket stereo dimming with headlights.

Hi all,

Shop half-assed stereo installation so now I have to pick up the pieces. The only thing I haven't been able to find ANY information on is how/where/what do I have to connect to what to get my stereo to auto-dim when I have the headlights on.

Any advice welcome.

Can’t be of too much help here, so, sorry about that, but I feel like it should be built in if the new stereo was plug-n-play. Is there a setting on the stereo?

I seem to remember from units I have installed that the orange/white wire has to connect to a illumination wire from the car. You can pull out the head unit and look for a loose wire. Also make sure that the ground wire is attached to a good ground point.
