What does this manual description mean? (Auto Headlight ON With Wiper ON)

Feature: Auto Headlight ON With Wiper ON

Description: Changes the settings for the wiper operation when the headlights automatically come on while the headlight switch is in the AUTO position.

Settings: ON/OFF

What the HECK does this mean? For the life of me I can not figure out what this does! Why would wiper operation be tied to a headlight setting? Any help?

not in all states but most states have this law

Florida, for one., requires headlights on with wipers. The reason is safety: visibility. It can go from drops to deluge in seconds. Quite literally.

Yup, great feature I think. I'm assuming it's only for when your wipers are actually on. Intermittent and above, not just pushing the stalk up to get one swish.
