Replace CVT 10th Gen Civic

Hello, I was wondering if the CVT blows out, is there anything more than just replacing the CVT as a DIY, from my understanding you don't need to get a new TCM module, just the transmission itself. Just disaster planning currently, it hasn't gone out.
