More exhaust noise on the cheap without drone/headaches?

Hi guys, I've been trying to look around this forum at exhaust stuff, but wasn't really 100% interested in spending $1000+ on a catback exhaust just yet... I had a car with an awesome exhaust (my mazda speed6) but I actually had to wear ear plugs because the drone gave me headaches...

I was looking at a variety of catbacks, but can't seem to decide, I was mainly more leaning on a kinda chop off the mufflers and have a more free flowing muffler welded on the back....

I was looking at the vibrant 1040, not sure if it can be welded on with a standard mig welder onto the stock exhaust or not, and if the hangers line up and such... I have a mig welder at home...

I wonder if an exhaust bypass would work?
Would the sound be adjustable because it's cable actuated?

looks sick, my only concern is welding dissimilar metals together if thats ok, cause the vibrant is stainless steel, and the regular exhaust I'm guessing is not...
