Would this be make life easier to install a aftermarket radio to my lx? Or is there stuff still missing on this adapter?
You're better off with a metra kit and the axcess kit.

Is there any way to put an 2016 civic EX head unit into an civic lx?
Possible but not worth it. Those radios are garbage, and the DIY would be SO much more expensive than some of the best of the best aftermarket setups would cost.

Can someone link the compatible units and kit so I don't lose my backup camera? I absolutely need it but I also want to upgrade to something better.

I'd really appreciate it, thanks.

I posted this in another thread, but should probably be included here. For me, the biggest pain was finding where to run reverse and illumnation wires since those are not included in the harnesses. I was able to find both under the dash:

I wired mine under the dash. Annnnd I have pics! (sorry to derail!)

These are behind the drivers side panel under the steering wheel.

Here you can see both connections:
Foreground(blurry), illumination - grey wire on brown plug coming from traction control button.
Background, reverse - green wire on green plug by fuses.

This is on the sport hatch, use at your own risk, multimeter everything to be sure yadda yadda

For the LX, is it confirmed that the USB port at the bottom stops working once radio is changed? Gonna put ILX-107 alpine so don't care much for plugging in phone.. just want it to charge..

You can still use the usb. Grab either Metra AX-TOYUSB or PAC Audio USB-TY1

Success!

I ended up ordering the PAC Audio USB-TY1 on amazon after I posted the other night and just installed it over lunch as soon as it got here. The oem plug clicks right in and the usb-a end fits snuggly in my 4200nex. I was worried about Android Auto over USB-C since that can be finicky with certain cables, but am happy to report that everything was fully functional.
