You're right. I've purchased vehicles with 3 miles on them before. If it's over 8-9 miles on a brand new vehicle, I would be weary. Although it seems insignificant, those 5-10 miles of joy ride could cause problems down the road.

All you need is one jackass doing a downshift and pegging the tach to start damaging the valves or riding the clutch/red line shifting to cause oil burning issues at 10k miles.

My father in law does the PDI for the dealer I am buying from and he says 12-15 at delivery is acceptable.
