I read here that the Honda engine fluid is semi-synthetic.
Can I put full synthetic into the 1.5T? I have some Mobile One 0w40 (European Formula) lying around.

I would do full synthetic. But once you do that, don’t look back.

Since it is full synthetic, can the oil change interval be extended? How about the Oil Life indicator?

The oil change interval of my CLK is 10k miles and it takes 8 litres.

Synthetic these days are cheap enough that there's no reason to switch back.

Mobile One 0w40 is one of the approved engine for my CLK. It is $13 per litre in Canadian Tire and I need 8 litres! Good that the oil change interval is 15k KM.

Cost of engine oil is not the only concern. Less oil change = less visit to dealership.

The FF is SS or SB with break-in additives (extra moly and whatever is used for assembly lube, iono, more boron, calcium?). What I did was let the FF go atleast 5k (5801 to be exact) so the engine breaks in with the special FF that you cannot replicate easily but the key is >5000 miles. To mitigate that challenge of puling off an extended break-in to 10k, I went to the dealer and luckily they switched to Honda Genuine Full Synthetic. Striving to continue the FF tradition, tried and true formula as I know atleast .8 to over 1 quart of FF is still in there and won't drain out in the dealer fast and furious oil change style. The car in this sweltering heat is holding up well and the engine seems to be flourishing. Here is one vote to stay Honda and extend the break-in and I am also tempted to cash in on the AAP clearance sale of QSUD full synthetic but I'm holding out for 3 oil changes (2 more from here) of just Honda FS oil.

Not sure about Canadian spec, but US spec is 0W-20, semi synthetic or full synthetic.

I would stick to the manufacture oil change mileage interval. Yes a synthetic oil will not suffer from viscosity issues as much as part-synthetic or traditional, but there are a variety of factors to consider when determining the oil change interval (i.e. type of engine, size of engine, oil capacity, driving conditions, etc.). An oil may say "good for 10,000 miles" but if my oil life goes to "0%" after 7,500 miles, I am changing my oil.
