Hello,
I just ordered Rv6 ceramic coated front pipe and plan on running boost logic ti exhaust. I want to order a down pipe from Rv6 but undecided on cat or non cat. I been going through the forum and a lot of people still getting check engine light with the catted dp. I like the fact that non catted version is less restrictive and overall achieves more power. I was thinking either not cat or possibly just leaving stock dp because 5-6 hp isn’t worth $500.
Please help :)
Thanks guys and gals

I have been running the RV6 catted DP without any check engine lights.

It has been PRL catted DP that I have noticed some people comment they have been getting the check engine light. Futhermore they have been using the fabspeed O2 spacer that PRL commented that it probably isn't heating up enough. PRL also has a version 2 of their DP. Their change was for easier production as well as eliminate the check engine lights.

I also have the RV6 ceramic catted DP. Wanted alittle more free flowing but didnt want the smell. No engine light either being @ 2350 miles. Just ordered a FP also to match.

GL with your choice.

Having a catted dp will pass emissions?

Pros of catted... no smell, no check engine light and a little more free flowing then stock dp.
Cons a lot of money for 5hp

Pros of non catted.... free flowing results in more hp, lower temps
Cons possible check engine light

Thanks for your help

Having a cat is a piece of mind( for me at least), I am fine with losing few HP. As long as you dont trip a CEL, you should pass without issue unless inspector do a visual. lol.

I posted the below in a another thread about catted vs catless a while back.

Catted version is better for the environment since it reduces the follow as well.
  • Carbon monoxide (a poisonous gas)
  • Nitrogen oxides (a cause of smog and acid rain)
  • Hydrocarbons (a cause of smog)

RV6 also offers ceramic coating as an option when you buy their pipes and they come out looking just as good. Also saves you the hassle of receiving the raw part and manually shipping it to another company. I've been running their catted downpipe for a little over 2000 miles and love it.
