  1. The Shadow Type R Build

I'm back baby - just like Futurama (for like the 9th time.) Kind of wild to sit back and think I'm right at 6 years of owning this car - it actually might take the record for longest car I've ever owned. I think my registration costs for the plates will actually start coming down. Hot diggity...
  2. Spoon Rigid Collar Reivew

You don’t need to fully drop or take off the sub frame, it just makes the work somewhat “faster” or “cleaner”. You can loosen all the bolts for either the front or rear subframe and drop the whole assembly by ~1 inch but still have it attached and hanging there. From that point you can take...
  3. RV6 Performance Front Compliance Mount and Spherical Bushing Install Guide For FK8 Type R

. So the first revision of these compliance bearings had a binding sound that was kind of like a "pop" you'd get from cracking your knuckles (like one "pop" here and there, but obviously with the weight of the car behind it so you would notice it unlike a subtle finger cracking pop.) Couldn't...
  4. RV6 Performance Front Compliance Mount and Spherical Bushing Install Guide For FK8 Type R

All in all I'm still very happy with these! I've gone through some iterations of the compliance mount bearings as RV6 has released new revisions, but I'm still on the first spherical bearing in the front side of the control arm. The revisions on the compliance mount weren't related to...
  5. RV6 R660 RED Ball Bearing Turbocharger

The install is very straightforward for this turbo. The only real advice I have is the typical "be careful when removing the downpipe hardware." I would also just go ahead and drain at least half of your coolant out - don't try to use pinch pliers - you will replace some lines completely and...
  6. The Shadow Type R Build

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah as far as I know there are only two places to get e85 in my town, and neither are exactly on my commute…. As for the Dark Terror - it’s currently powering two Orange PPC112 cabs - I bought one with the head originally, then ended up buying a second one years...
  7. The Shadow Type R Build

It's calm here… too calm. Is everyone transitioning to the 11th gen? I'm not. My budget says no. My common sense says no. My wife says no. My heart says no too - I love my car. But, sometimes you get to a point and realize it's time… Time for what you ask? Lunch time? Maybe...
  8. Iowa Rampage Fab Titanium Turbo Studs (8x)

Bump - I’ll take best offers on these.
  9. Iowa Sold: Rampage Fab Titanium Turbo Studs (8x)

I have a brand new set of Rampage Fab titanium studs in the raw finish for sale. I have 8x, so enough for the turbo to the engine block and the turbo to downpipe connections. I ended up going a different route and have no need for these. Asking $75.
  10. RV6 Performance Solid Rear Trailing Arm Spherical Bearing Install Guide For 10th Gen Civic Type R

I'm still a fan of these parts. I would say the effect on handling wasn't as night and day as with the front solid mount package, but this definitely made the rear end feel more unified and tied together. I would recommend them if you are a fan of stiff suspension.
  11. RV6 Performance Solid Rear Trailing Arm Spherical Bearing Install Guide For 10th Gen Civic Type R

My bearings are still doing good, but I do not daily the car. I've put around 10K miles on them and see no signs of looseness or degradation. The durability of your bearings will depend heavily on what kind of conditions you put them through. If you drive in wet / dirty environments they will...
  12. The Shadow Type R Build

AIR RAID!!! Wait… was that premature? I guess WWIII hasn't officially kicked off yet. We must still be somewhere in the post credits of 2 World 2 War and we haven't started World War: Tokyo drift yet. But man… it's been a hell of a winter. There been just… so much snot from little noses in...
  13. The Shadow Type R Build

Yeah ramps are one option, I stacked a couple of 2x6 pieces under the tires to get a comfortable height. As far as the angle, it doesn’t matter here - weight is weight on that sway bar. I’d leave the linkages loose (you can do that part in the air) lower the car to get the weight on the rear...
  14. The Shadow Type R Build

Thanks! And my pleasure - I like doing the write ups and it’s fun rambling about my adventures. Even if only like 5 people listen. But man… I really feel bad telling you what to do here - it should be your decision… not to mention it’s actually a hard question to answer. From an NVH...
  15. The Shadow Type R Build

Oh hi there! I'm just going to go ahead and break the 4th wall here (like my hero Deadpool) and real talk with you guys for a minute. Hey. *Flips the hair from my eyes* Actually, this may only be 3rd wall breaking since I'm shattering a 2-d format? Dimensions are hard. I had this post all...
  16. FlashPro General Question

You should be fine - Disconnecting the battery wouldn't change the last calibration you had flashed.
  17. Front suspension creaking noise

I’m also curious if you’ve done any suspension modifications or are bone stock.
  18. Money shifted from 3rd to 2nd.....

You could be right - I’m not a professional, sorry for the mistake.
  19. Money shifted from 3rd to 2nd.....

Don’t think those codes can be read by your average parts store. I believe they are stored deeper “in the matrix” and only Honda dealer scans can find them.
