yeah i'm not surprised. I've seen lots of weird deals.
Most of the time, it's having somebody already lined up for it. There are other factors though. One thing for sure is, they are not in it to help you get the most out of the car. They will not pay that high of an amount for no reason.

I've learned a lot about how things are in the 5 years or so i worked.
yea, I'm starting to see a lot in the SF area...so these guys/gals up here in the bay area are going crazy!!! do you think it has anything to do with people finally realizing the Supra is actually a BMW, so people are turning back to the Type R? If yes, then resale value for our Type R's will continue to be good. :)

I'm not sure but i personally don't believe the people looking at a supra would be looking at a CTR as they are both totally different vehicles.

However i have seen car max offers of like 32k and stuff so the car itself hasn't really depreciated that much at all.

Personal experience....it's hard to privately sell a car worth > 15k....lots of people just don't have financing / cash over that price point (at least in my area) and you have to deal with a ton of silly communications.

I was pleasantly surprised how much Carvana gave me for a used car in the past and it was no hassle.

Also, looking at the FS section here lots of cars in that range seem to be asking for 34-36k.

I would sell it to Carvana. Less of a hassle and they'll give you KBB value or close to it. I hate dealing with dealerships especially when a trade in is involved.
