Hey Jerome,
I really, really envy you my friend. It's an awesome car, mine is still in the dealership waiting for the registration. Just went through the insurance process today. In Hungary, you need to have your new car insured before the registration, so it was a must that had to be done ASAP. It's done. Now, it's completely up to the local goverment office's (just like DMV in the States) workload. I bought my beauty in Budapest, although I live in the countryside. As far as I know, Budapest's DMV offices are fully loaded that's why it takes that much :-(
Hopefully I can have her on Monday... I'm so excited.
Traded in a 4 years old Mitsubishi Lancer for this beauty. Exactly the same colour like yours. I'm in love with this colour actually. And.... surprising to me... this was the cheapest! Every other shade is priced higher than this. So it was a win-win for me. I saved 600 € on the price by not chosing the graphite grey. Let you know when I have it and maybe I'm gonna pay you a visit in France one day! :) ;-)
I know these downsized engines are tend to burn more gas but it's a Honda! If you don't floor her, she's not gonna eat anything. Let me know if you have experience about the real fuel economy...

Hey Joe ! Thanks a lot for your kind reply, and all my best wishes for you and your new Civic ! :) You'll really like it, you'll see, it's a great car! Comfortable, reliable and above all full of fun! I fully understand the problem related to insurance, it's exactly the same here in France. But luckily, my car arrived just before I went on vacation. The garage took care of the insurance and registration of the car and when I came back from vacation, I was able to get it back. You'll see, this color is just beautiful, I hope you can still enjoy the beautiful autumn weather to enjoy the reflections of color on the bodywork, it's a beauty! Feel free to send me pictures! And which version did you take? The same as me? Regarding fuel consumption, my small 1-litre engine, 130 horsepower now consumes an average of 7.0 litres (city, motorways, countryside). That's really very reasonable!!!

Why do people in France stick with the German brands? Opel VW etc.... why the bias against Honda?
Quite frankly...why, I don't know...My father himself bought audi and volkswagen for more than 30 years, but a few years ago the problems on his new cars kept increasing, he also turned to Japan...Let's just say that in France, people like cars that are striking or that give a certain standing...so many people buy these Volkswagen, Audi, Mercedes to give themselves a standing without have the price. In reality, apart from the French and German brands, the automotive market is rather monotonous here...

Hi Jerome,

My version is the 1.0 TURBO Elegance NAVI. I think these specifications are region specific. For example in Hungary the following trim levels are available: S, Comfort, Elegance, Executive, Sport, Sport Plus, Prestige.
Actually the cars arriving to Hungary are very very well equipped, so the Elegance has everything like yours, only exception is the moonroof. Other than that, pretty much everything is in it.
And yes, I would like to use the opportunity of the fall colours and the yellower, not so steep angled sunrays of this season. Actually this sonic grey is just awesome!!! It's almost impossible to see it in the same shade. It's like having a car with different colours. Sometimes it's blue, other times it's bluish, on cloudy days it's a brighter grey. So it's really very impressive and unique. I fell in love with it immediately. It's the typical case of love at first sight :)
Man, I want to have her by every minute!!! But due to the workload that I mentioned realisticly I can have her only on Monday.... :-( I know myself and I know my luck will run out and the sunshine will vanish until, so there's gonna be only grey and cloudy weather by then. But you know what? I just don't care! In that case I will enjoy the lighter gray shade of this beautiful colour! :)
I promise you to send some pictures the same day I get my hands on her! :-D

Hi Joe,

You know what ? That sounds reaaaaaaaaaaaaally good ! So happy for you !
The versions are the same as in your country, here in France. I have the Exclusive version, and after looking at it, it would indeed be the executive version in your country. Indeed you don't have much different, except the led lights, the sunroof and two or three driving aids. But you'll see, it's a great car!

This ever-changing colour is precisely what made me fall in love with it too. :D:D:D

I'm excited to get your pictures, and don't forget to post them in the sonic-photos thread ! ;)

Hey Jerome,

Just a quick question(s): if you push the ECON button, will the car be significantly sedated? Does that worth anything (good for the fuel economy)?

Oh, and the best news. The dealer just called me. I can have her on Tuesday at 10 AM...
I already have written out a holiday for Tuesday in the system. :-D :-D

Hey Joe !

Good news ! :)
You must be impatient for tomorrow! To be honest, I ran in all my running-in with the ECON mode activated (the first 3,000 kilometres therefore). And consumption has become really stable and low with it. I'm averaging 7.0l right now (city, highway and countryside). I have disabled the ECON mode since yesterday, but to be honest, I don't see any changes at the moment. To be seen in the long term!
