Rear door weather strip garnish replaced

Sooo i have a 2018

This weather strip / garnish on the rear door kept folding back and looking bad.

For 2019 they rounded out the edge, my local Honda dealer stupidly replaced mine with the old part disappointingly.

I wish they gave me the updated rubber garnish. If you are having issues of it flipping back and getting caught while washing the car, dealers will gladly replaced them except you should ask for 2019 ones.

I don’t understand, your car is a 2018 why would they put a 2019 part on it?
Unless you paid for this I’d doubt they would put a 2019 part on it.

Because the part was revised ????? Duh

Meaning they saw it as being proned to failure

It’s common sense, why replace it with an old part that already failed when they clearly revised the issue.

They rounded out the tip so it wouldn’t get caught on towels.

The service manager even said they will eventually update the systems to allow ordering of the revised part but since it isn’t updated yet they had to just give me the old one for now.

They did say if it happens again to return though.

I read on the FB groups that someone had their dealer give them the revised 2019 model without asking, only reason why I made this thread.

I have a 2019 and just had the left side replaced under warranty cause it was coming up.

Replaced my on my 2017 today. Figured I get it out of the way before warranty expires. My dealer installed the revised part.
