you can have a CAN based MCU setup so when the car starts it puts the volume all the way down. It will just send the volume down signal over the car's network.

Also, maybe there is a setting to keep Bluetooth on while I turn the ignition off.

My mod allows BT calls/audio to remain on when shutting off or turning on car. Radio turns off when factory armed. Disarming car turns radio on. ?
