OEM Red Leather Shift Knob Help

Got it Thanks! Just to get it straight this is an issue from 2020 + 2021 cars only? I'm getting tired of frying my hand after my car sits outside and was looking at the red leather OEM version. I note in the instructions for install a caution after removing the original round ball that says: "Shift lever knob Do not reuse". I wonder why?

I’ve never had an issue reusing that shift knob. So I don’t know why that would be in the instructions.
