They're thick 3M OEM clear door edge film strips cut for the 4 doors. You might be thinking of the plastic door edge guards.

4 door edge guards - CLEAR...

Those are the plastic ones. They can trap dirt. The tape doesn't.

Warm up the plastic ones with a hair dryer or heat gun and they should come off without damaging the paint. Go very slow.
