Hello,
I have a 2019 Honda civic type r with 11k miles on it. I noticed when I turn my steering wheel, left or right, a harmoniccreaking nise coming from the driver side wheel area. I took my wheel off to inspect for rocks being stuck between the rotor and brake shield but found none. I then tried troubleshooting steps:
1. Removing the brake pads and adjusting the shim. - noise still present
2. Removing the brake caliper and spraying everything with brake cleaner- noise still present
3. Spraying all moving parts with lithium grease and lubricant - noise still present
4. Spun the cv Axle with everything off - no noise present
4. Removed the outer steering tie rod and rotated everything now, left and right. -no noise present
5. Turned the steering wheel with the tie rod unbolted - noise present
Seems like my rack and pinion (steering rack) is going to be my problem. I added a video with the noise creaking while everything was disconnected. Would everyone agree that my steering rack needs to be replaced?
