I have a question for the community, I have heard and actually seen a couple of SIs that are using the base civic sportlines on their civics. What is you opinion on this?

Why not get parts that are made specifically for your car?

Cause the drop is not significant. I already put the baseline coupe springs on and I have no issues at all.

I'm thinking that's a good way to grenade the dampers in a short period of time ($600 per corner from the dealer).

the drop for sportlines is similar to D2's and lots of people run those on Si's. I personally went with Skunk2 springs as they are more of a drop than prolines but less of a drop than D2's/sportlines.
