  1. Touring 10 Speaker Stereo Review?

UPDATE: I have to say that after a few months with the car, something has changed. Either my ears have adjusted or the speakers have truly "broken in," but I'm really quite fond of the sound now. Again, I added a JL Audio sub which is a must, but my previous complaints about the harshness of the...
  2. Honda Sensing - Stress Eliminator

To add my two cents: I've had my Touring for about a month now and, while I've had to adjust my expectations for Sensing, I very much appreciate it. I have a 30-minute commute each way (nearly all freeway) and Honda Sensing helps keep me a few steps safer. I had originally hoped (if even...
  3. Touring 10 Speaker Stereo Review?

Amen. I actually found that turning the bass all the way down on the HU cleaned up the overall sound quite a bit (to the point that I no longer get ear fatigue after 15 minutes), and while the JL sub fills in most of the low end on electronic music, rock or other similar music leaves much to be...
  4. Apple CarPlay muting music

Having the same issue (and really bothered by it), hoping they fix it soon. I reached out to Honda via Twitter and they told me to call their in-car support team. Haven't gotten around to that...
  5. Touring speaker replacement woes and semi-success

Bummer. That's more than I want to do. Simply replacing the HU and adding a sub in my last Civic gave me good enough sound, so I'm really hoping I can get there again with a minimal amount of modding. I'm seeing other threads on here about replacing the tweeters, so even though I didn't think...
  6. Touring 10 Speaker Stereo Review?

Thank you for the quick reply. I'll give it a look!
  7. Touring speaker replacement woes and semi-success

Forgive my ignorance here, but how does that play with the stock speakers? It looks like the outputs are RCA, and my speakers obviously aren't, and I don't intend to add an amp. Is the FiX intended to simply live between the stock HU and an amp?
  8. Touring speaker replacement woes and semi-success

Does anyone else's ears hurt after listening to the system for more than 15 minutes? I keep the volume at or around 17-20, but my ears get fatigued quite quickly. Never ran into this with my '08 civic. I just put in a JL Audio Powerwedge+ (sealed) and it added some nice bass to my Touring...
  9. Touring 10 Speaker Stereo Review?

Good to know; I might need to give that a shot. How did you go about making the switch? Any pointers for someone who hasn't done much more than replace a HU? (Can I use the existing wiring and all?)
  10. Aftermarket sub for Touring

Also, (just to follow up), I took a closer look and realized that the guys put in the ported version of the JL Powerwedge+, vs. the sealed. After switching it out for the sealed version, it's much punchier.
  11. Aftermarket sub for Touring

    Awesome, good to know!
  12. Aftermarket sub for Touring

I re-read the posts on the first page, and don't see a post confirming that—did I miss something? I know some HUs do that, but where the Touring has a factory sub, I've got to think that it's getting the right frequencies, regardless of volume? I don't notice any drop-off, but don't know how to...
  13. Aftermarket sub for Touring

Did you ever get this installed? I don't know how to tell if the sub is getting enough of the range to play properly? I have a JL Audio Powerwedge+ installed and it *seems* to be getting all the notes (I don't notice a bass drop-off when I up the volume), but I'd love to know if anyone has...
  14. Aftermarket sub for Touring

The JL Audio is powered, and the Rockford is a P300 10"
  15. Aftermarket sub for Touring

I just got a JL Audio Powerwedge+ (10") put in and, honestly, I'm disappointed. It's hooked in via the stock sub speaker wire. My $150 Rockford in my 2008 Civic is punchier and fuller. That is hooked up via RCA to a Pioneer 4000NEX head unit, but would that make much of a difference? Trying to...
  16. Touring 10 Speaker Stereo Review?

Just got my touring and agree with the earlier comments about the system not being very good. I'm comparing it to my 2008 Civic with a Pioneer head unit (4000-NEX), stock speakers, and a 10" Rockford Fosgate powered sub. That system was actually quite nice (though a lot of it had to do with the...
  17. AUDIO ISSUES ON 2016 CIVIC EX

I just bought a Touring yesterday and have noticed the same issues: when I hung up a phone call, audio levels only went to "10" and I had to unplug and re-plug the phone. I've also had the issue with audio going softer when I unlock my phone, and louder when I lock it. This can't be a "feature,"...
  18. Stereo difference between Touring and the other trims ?

I'm in Utah, but surprisingly, after doing a little digging last night, I found a couple. Not sure why that sales guy said there weren't any, but I'm not inclined to buy from him anymore regardless...
  19. Stereo difference between Touring and the other trims ?

Good to know. Basically decided on the Touring today (and will add an aftermarket sub), which will probably work well enough for me. Unfortunately I just found out that there are no more white ones anywhere in the state. Might be waiting until October/November... Thanks!
  20. Stereo difference between Touring and the other trims ?

Okay, so there is a separate output on the HU? Using that for my after-market sub would be better than just tapping a rear speaker, right? And I hear you on the leather—If I don't go for the touring, I'd go for the EX-L.
