  1. Where are the Manuals?

Lol, why do people throw around opinions as if they are facts? 'Ideal cruise'? What is that supposed to mean?? My '03 Accord MT turns just over 3000 at 80 mph. At 240,000 miles, it has spent A LOT of time at that speed, and the engine still runs like new. It's still quiet and efficient at...
  2. Civic a "Best Car to get to 200,000" says Consumer Reports

Exactly. Bought a salvaged 2003 accord I4 with 156K a few years back. Got a very good deal on it. It's now at 209K and all it's needed is brake pads, oil and tires. Runs like new. Original clutch, too.
  3. Civic a "Best Car to get to 200,000" says Consumer Reports

I have faith that the entire new civic line will be reliable enough to reach 200,000 with basic maintenance. That being said, I'd probably feel better doing it in an LX (no sensing), a manual, and dat good old K20. I'm sure any civic would be fine, but if my life depended on it, base model 6MT...
  4. Open all windows and sunroof with keyfob

I drive a 2003 Accord LX, which is nearing beater-status and has this feature lol
  5. Official COSMIC BLUE Civic Thread

    Good ol' downtown Boise :)
  6. Rumors swirl.... 2016 Civic Si 2.0T with about 230hp.

THANK YOU. Yes, on top of the Sport, even the Accord LX and EX Sedans come in 6MT (without sensing). And I bet the redesigned 2018 Accord will STILL offer a manual. I love Honda's holdout-ness when it comes to this. I really don't think anyone should worry about the demise of a manual SI anytime...
  7. 0-60 with the base 2.0 LX model and a manual

Totally agree. I currently drive a 5MT Accord LX with a 160hp K24. They screech quite easily because the LX tires are so narrow.
  8. LA Times says 2016 is "Economical, affordable, dependable — and dull"

If the Civic X is dull, then there are no words for the Corolla. Also: "This is a passenger vehicle with which no reasonable person could possibly [...] fall in love." ...Fine, call me unreasonable, then. :p
  9. Old Yeller

    Old Yeller

1972 Honda Z600 Coupe. Yellow. Absurd, leaky moonroof.
  10. WHY is Honda KILLING the MANUAL TRANNY (FUN FACTOR) on such a beautiful car?!

Thank you. Millennial here. First car was a manual, but then I drove a '96 Accord with an auto for five years. Loved that car but never came to prefer the auto. When I bought my '03 Accord two years ago, I went out of my way to find a 5MT and I'm not looking back. I'm 26 now, Preparing to buy my...
  11. Orange/copper vinyl wrapped 2016 Civic sedan

Agreed, in that it looks like Kraft Macaroni and Cheese
  12. Canadian LX has upgraded center screen and gauges?

Good to know. Thank you for the info.
  13. Canadian LX has upgraded center screen and gauges?

Hey, currently visiting Vancouver, BC area. Stopped into a Richmond Honda dealer and saw two LXs (I'm sure they were, because of the window sticker and plastic faux wheels). Inside there was definitely the more advanced infotainment display, and what looked like the upgraded TFT speedo/tac as...
  14. Official COSMIC BLUE Civic Thread

Fellow Idahoan here. Congrats. I'm thinking this is my favorite color, too.
  15. Kelly Blue Book names 2016 Civic Overall Best Buy and Best Small Car award winner

I don't really think any 2015 compact is/was something to call home about. I liked Focus, (Mazda) 3, and Civic the most. If I had chosen a favorite it would've been the 3, but I disagree that KBB preferring the Civic last year destroys their credibility. I believe the Civic was in among the top...
  16. FIRST 2016 Civic Sedan Owner! (Touring Trim in So Cal)

Congrats. I think this new civic is going to be an extremely popular, well-loved car. Must be exciting to be one of the first to own one.
  17. 42 mpg highway being displayed for 2016 Civic 1.5T Touring

I currently own a 600 coupe. Fun little car, ancestor of the civic
  18. Quick previews of 2017 Civic Hatchback shape

Cool, good work. Gives a decent idea of how the basic hatch will look. IMO, this hatch is shaping up to be what the Crosstour should have been. Ride height won't be pointlessly raised, styling won't be mysteriously completely different from the sedan on which it's based. It's not going to try to...
  19. Some Rallye Red sedan with base audio/screen + manual

Agreed, CDs are done for. If you don't have a phone with good storage, buy a used ipod for $30 and put all of your CDs on it. Also, phone nav with car integration will certainly kill built-in nav systems. Redundancy like this has a very short life span, and nav in phones is the clear winner.
