Yeah, it was most likely key fob hijack. There's been a few thefts in my area. Might be also something to do with the walk-away unlock, so turn that off. I'm not sure what that function causes the key to do and for the car to lock itself once it's not in proximity (i.e. constant pinging, etc.)...

Hey - apologies, then that's not what I'm talking about. There is coverage for new cars where the insurer will pay the full msrp if the car is totalled. You pay extra for it as it's extra coverage. Perhaps 10 bucks a month?
Guys on the board are right, if they want it bad enough, they'll take it.
But that doesn't mean you need to take it lying down.
Here are some things you can do:
Steering wheel lock
GPS tracker
Kill switch
Make sure you get that gap insurance, if they do take it - you won't be out of pocket...
Hey dudes - my car got stolen a few weeks back. Parked at a train station and cops have video of the theft. T'was a 2019 and my heart still breaks everyday. Video showed the theft - no window smashing but they were able to get into the car, start it, and drive off.
