  1. Civic Hatch 2017 MT, flashing CARB unit to +9 psi?

3 months ago I got the CARB Hondata unit and flashed the ECU to the base +6 psi. It seems to be fine and the increased HP is very nice. Mileage sucks of course when I'm pushing it, but I went for a 50 mile drive yesterday that was mostly highway and was seeing 41mpg. However there is a...
  2. Aftermarket head, phone and camera controls

I had an aftermarket head unit installed in my Honda Civic Hatch. It works pretty well, but there are two issues. One is that the cell controls on the steering wheel don't work (volume control works fine). I also cannot switch the camera view for the factory backup camera. Is that just a...
  3. Aftermarket head and factory mic

I'm being told that there is no way to get the factory mic to work with *any* aftermarket head unit in my 2017 Sport Hatch? Is that true?
  4. Redoing audio in Civic Hatch Sport...

I've lived with the inferior audio, nav, etc. in my Hatch Sport for more than a year now. Wish they'd had a high end Civic Hatch with a MT, but alas. So time for an upgrade. I don't want to make a lot of modifications to the car. Thinking about a 2 Din audio/gps/Android auto unit and...
  5. Resetting the airbag sensor

I just had some work done on the passenger seat and the SRS indicator on the dash is on permanently. The upholstery guy told me the dealer had to do a reset. My question: Would doing a Hondata Flashpro ECU flash clear that? Or is there some other way to clear it myself? Thanks! Donald
  6. Finding the ECU number...

Have to ask a stupid question. I have a Civic Hatch and I cannot find the ECU number. The ECU plug is a plain white plug mounted on a plain piece of metal as far as I can tell. No numbers of any kind. Where should I be looking? Thanks! Donald
  7. Flashing back to stock?

Do you guys flash back to stock for: a) Dealer service? b) Getting the car smogged?
  8. Boosting performance in an Civic Manual Hatch?

I'm pretty close to ruling out getting a Type R. Too expensive, too much of a comfort issue (seats are just to narrow). So plan B is to do the poor man's version. I have a 2017 Civic Sport Manual Hatch. If it had the Si engine, I'd be a happy camper. But that isn't going to happen. So what...
  9. Type R for rent

After a lot of poking around, I've found exactly two Type-R's for rent. One is near Los Angeles, but that guy wants $300 a day, which seems pretty pricey. *However* if you're near San Franciso, here is a real deal. A guy there will rent it to you for $150 a day. He will also deliver the car...
  10. 2019 Civic hatch?

Last year at this time, there was stuff everywhere about the Civic Hatch and of course the Type-R. This year? I don't see anything. Are the Civic Hatch and Type R being changed at all for 2019? Will there ever be a Civic Si Hatch? Can anyone point me somewhere that they are giving updates...
  11. 4 Type Rs available near Los Angeles

At Woodland Hills Honda (zip code 91367) they have 4 Type-Rs for sale right now. One is a used white one, and there are two grey and one blue. They are doing the usual stupid markup, but they made it clear they are ready to wheel and deal. 3 of them have been there for at least a week. So if...
  12. How much can the passenger seat be raised in a Type R?

My wife has really bad knees, getting in and out of a low car is tough. She *can* get into and out of a Honda Civic Hatchback Sport. So my questions: 1. How much lower is the Type-R versus the Civic Hatchback Sport? I haven't had a chance to really check out the Type-R (briefly sat in one)...
  13. What upgrades should I get for my Civic Sport Hatchback?

I finally got a Civic Sport M/T Hatchback at below MSRP after jerking around with local dealers for a month. There were I think 4 Blue ones in the whole US according to Autotrader, so really pretty fortunate to get one. But as we know, this is far from the top of the line in terms of add ons...
  14. Curse of the Civic Type-R

Because of Civic Type-R Honda dealers believe we are desperate for *any* stick shift Civic hatchback. There are virtually no available Civic Hatchback Sport Manuals in So. Cal., and the few that are they want to add on Type-R type markups (i.e. $5,000). That is ridiculous. The Type-R is a...
  15. Have VIN, is it possible to figure out when Civic arriving?

I have a dealer who wants me to sign a contract for a Civic Hatchback Sport that is "in transit". Now I have the VIN, so I know it's for real, but is there a way to find out what the expected delivery date is, or even if it's in the US? I should just trust the friendly, helpful, always honest...
  16. The Type R I didn't buy

I had an extraordinary opportunity. I was first in line for a Type-R from a dealer that was doing no markup. Went to the dealer to see it today. I'm a little bigger guy, and no way I could sit comfortably in the car. This craze for having narrow, bolstered seats in any kind of performance...
