I've had this car for about a month now and about 600 miles on it. Not even past the break in period yet. But, I've noticed that my MPG is rather poor and seemingly getting worse. I've seen people posting 30-40 and I'm sitting here with 24 and dropping.

This is mostly city driving as well since I only drive on the highway about once a week for 20 minutes.

Is everyone with those numbers using Econ all the time or what?

I have been averaging 30mpg by the time I pump with mostly city but I usually go from 28-36 on my residential drive to work with plenty of lights and other cars. On the highway I have yet to hit 40 mpg though. I'm not sure if it was the conditions or not but it seems like efficiency drops off after I hit around 70mph.

it sounds about right before my job was like 6miles away from home and only used street average mpg was around 26 but now that my job is 35miles away and use like 99% highway now im seeing that high 30's low 40's depending on my speed/cruise control/hills. from what ive found econ is best used in street driving and it's an annoyance for highway.

also if you go home>info>menu>trip computer/calculator? forgot the exact wording but it gives you your current mpg for the trip since vehicle start up and your previous one too. there you can kinda test out and see for yourself how city mpg is pretty sh-t

just for example so the 16mpg was my trip to chipotle during lunch which is like half mile away(shouldve just walked) then 41.5mpg on my way back from work

I'm running 28mpg right now. If your daily city commute has plenty of hills, mpgs will go down the drain. Also the fact that it's winter, low ambient temperatures will cause your mpg to suffer.

The CVT sport is already low to begin at 36MPG highway. What are some 6MT real world mpgs? That is ranked at 39mpg HWY.

I'm getting 33 mpg but I'm 45 miles from work. I'm not easy on the throttle either.

It's cold out so the engine needs to run richer to get up to operating temps, winter gas blend, and a lot of city driving all add up to bad mpgs.

The other day, I drove home from work (50 miles) and got 46mpg. I filled up my gas tank and drove the 1 mile home from there. My car was already warm and I still got 29 mpgs.

The best I have ever gotten on a trip:

Car: 2017 Civic Hatch EX
Temperature: 69F
Gas: Costco 87 octane
Distance Travel: ~70 miles
Highway Driving: ~98%
Eco Mode: Yes
MPG: 45

I was going ~65 at cruising speed. I rarely went over 2500 rpm for the entire trip.

As for city driving, the number went down to ~33-35 MPG.

My MPG is usually 32-33, I use 91 octane fuel and drive on the freeway most of the time, but in pretty bad stop-and-go traffic. Never use econ mode anymore because I was getting around 25-28 MPG.

I have the Sport CVT and drive in normal mode no econ, in the city only.
Average is right at 28 MPG. Occasional WOT and Sport mode with paddles for fun!!!

Hatchback Sport 6MT here. I have been getting 26-28 in mostly city driving with no Eco and 93 gas. Other threads report a 3-4mpg improvement with Eco, so this seems about right.

Sport 6MT - I'm getting around 40 mpg per tank, with 90% highway driving. City driving I see more like 30 mpg. Econ has been off, and I'm pretty gentle most of the time.
