How many coats did you do, and how long should you wait in between each coat?

Usually 15 minutes between coats, I did a chrome delete on my '16 EXT. 4 coats on the window trim and grill.

How well has it held up in your experience?
It held up well, 2 years. Minor touch ups, peeling. Make sure you put the can of plastidip in warm water for a few minutes before using. watch videos!! :D

I'm thinking of doing my 2020 soon. ;)

Thanks for the info. Hoping to tackle this project this weekend to complete the full chrome delete. I already have window visors that cover up most of the chrome window trim, and have some 3M satin black vinyl that needs to be applied to cover the leftover exposed chrome trim. Then it's just the emblems/badges that need to be Plasti Dipped.

I did 8 coats, 4 coats of black, then 4 more of blue pearlizer. One thing I can say and this is absolutely necessary if your emblems are up tight against the body with hardly any gap, you've got to do light coats. If not, the plastidip is going to build up between the emblems and the body and it will not snap correctly and will peel it from the emblems.
If you get just the slightest bit raised up,it's gonna all peel real quick especially after it rains.

I did 8 coats on my emblems about 2 weeks ago. Looks great, and haven't had any issues whatsoever (including car washes). I let each coat sit for about 15 minutes or until dry to the touch.

Should look into their new plasti dip called “hyper dip” looks a lot cleaner of a black IMO. Ordered a set to do on my aftermarket wheels, actually comes in tomorrow. I am excited! I can post pictures of what the new hyper dip looks like if you like. Only issue is it’s back ordered
