I thought we already confirmed this.

It's coming with 20"s

Stock civics are coming with 18"s no reason the Type R should be near that

Also the new STi is coming with 19"s

Honda can't afford to lose the wheel battle.

I wonder what stock Type R 20s with 20 miles on the tires would sell for... herm... cuz I'd gladly slap on some 18-19s if they fit over the brakes well and go with R888S anyways. Better tire :p

At the Anna Ohio engine plant, Looks ready to me!
Hello everyone I just wanna say Hi as I'm new here in CivicX. As with most of you here, I am also waiting for the R to arrive. I work at a Honda dealership as a technician and we still don't have any news on when is this beast going to be released. We will just have to wait and see... I'm sure it's worth the wait...

Regards,
CJ

It looks like they downsized to 17" wheels to me!

I love the look of the 20s but the practicality of the 19s is better in the long run. But hey I am just going to park mine most of it's life. I plan on only driving it on extremely nice days so which ever one it comes with I will be happy.

Looking great! I hope the production version in Geneva is Championship White. That'll keep me happy until it rolls off the truck.

Man, I wish this came in sedan format. I'm still not feeling the try-hard styling of the HB, even if there is performance to back it up :(

It was mentioned in another thread/interview that the CTR will be offered in 19s in factory form, with a 20" option.

Here's my speculation on the CTR weight.

9th gen UK CTR is 1397kg
9th gen UK Civic Base with 1.8 MT is 1341kg
10th gen UK Civic Base with 1.8 MT is 1307-1357kg

My estimate for the 10th gen CTR is 1360-1400kg (2998-3086lbs).

This is about 400lbs less than the Focus RS and the STI. This is really great news if it's true.

As close to 1360kg (3000lb) the better!! If it comes in too heavy that will suck. The top trim-level hatchback also comes in at 3003 lbs so hopefully it isn't much more than that. 400lbs less than the AWD cars is needed. The only way to justify the lack of AWD is the lower more nimble weight. Without it and the car will be more hype than substance.

Yeah 3000lbs is probably the sweet spot. We may know more next year when Honda starts releasing details...
