Also aero has to do with mpg.

I am also disapppointed at the mpg.

Just looking at the Golf R which if i am not mistaken is heavier and also using awd from time to time
can get better mpg than a type R.
You mean the same company that cheated and lied about their diesel engines. Yeah, fuck them. If I did that at my job I would be fired and thrown in jail.

I've not been a fan of VW since 1996. I went into a VW dealer comparing a Jeta to a Civic. The salesman started it up and it blew smoke on a brand new car. I was like What? He said oh they all do that on a cold start.. lol. I left and bought my very first new Honda. Never looked back.. ;)

Great find! I'll take the mileage, not the best but not worried about it.
Exactly. Car it's replacing is 22/29 so basically the same.

FYI I get about 16mpg (city) on my Golf R, so if u have a heavy foot don't think you'll get close to those high numbers. When I had a 30 mile commute on the highway I would get about 24 mpg, going 80 mph. So if you have a highway commute and keep it 65-70mph you might see those numbers. Cruising at 80 mph in 6th gear, DSG, rpms are ~3k. My car is stage 2 but stock my mpgs were the same

The 2015 Civic Si is EPA-rated to achieve 22 city, 31 highway, and 25 combined MPG. Fuelly reports an average of 28 MPG. None of the 40 2015 Si reporting to Fuelly average more than 36 MPG. Only 2 averaged more than 32 MPG. Achieving 34-37 MPG would be quite a feat.

"2015 Honda Civic Si MPG
Based on data from 40 vehicles, 2,091 fuel-ups and 567,054 miles of driving, the 2015 Honda Civic gets a combined Avg MPG of 28.12 with a 0.21 MPG margin of error."

Do you keep fuel economy records on Fuelly.com or a spreadsheet that you can share or is your 36-37 MPG claim based on numbers you see on the trip computer?

Exactly this. If you're not tracking miles and gallons over a long period of time and instead using the dash display to report MPG, you're not quite doing it right. I've had our MDX display as high as 36mpg on the screen...right after resetting the tracking and then driving/coasting downhill. Over a longer drive it will typically be off around 10% or so depending on idle time.
