According to my invoice, my dealership uses 15400-RTA-003.

I checked and the “current” part number of 15400-RTA-003 is 15400-PLM-A01. Not sure what this means.

The Mobil 1 oil filter for the Civic X 1.5 looks like it only have 6 holes around the center. That looks like its going to do some restriction on oil flow compare to the Honda OEM, it has like 12 holes around the center.

I decided i am staying with the K&N filter. I don’t pay much for it since I get them for less then retail. And for the over kill I am getting one of these.

Mobil1 filtering efficiency is best in the market. I don't know about the OEM filter though. Also, don't know if it's synthetic media in the filter or paper media

I use oem A01 filters. The A02 filters are garbage made by fram
I’ve always used oem filters for my cars and mobile one synthetic oil. My brother told me the same thing about the oil filters get the A01 not the A02 I’ll never buy aftermarket filters there’s a reason why their cheaper

What's your choice of oil filter for Civic Si for better performance of the Engine oil
I have been using Fram XG 7317 for years in Civics, Accords and will use it with my new SI. I change the filter with oil change. Fram gets bashed frequently in these forums. I have torn down Honda engines, have done timing belt changes on 4 and 6 cylinder engines. My opinion Fram 7317 is a filter I trust.

I'm probably the few on the forum that took more time to look at oil filters than anybody else.

Mobil1 oil filter is on par wih Amsoil and Royal purple. In fact the constructing is pretty much identical except for the filter material. Amsoil being the most expensive as it is $15, not counting shipping. Royal purple also around $15. Mobil 1 at walmart is $10.

A02 Honda is fine and here is a video of one that went 7000 miles

The ones that are obsessed with Fram Ultras, here are some stories maybe you should read into.

Honda filters favor flow over filtration. I have an S2000 and I still use the OEM oil filter on that car because there is specific oil pressure that it is suppose to run on. Using aftermarket oil filters with a different size will change the oil pressure.

For the Type R, I would consider Mobil 1 110A oil filter, especially since A01 has now disappeared from Amazon, as well as its HEMP oil filter clone.

I use the Hamp filters on mine. I bought them in bulk. I wouldn’t necessarily call them clones though. They are actually made by the same company to the same specs. They just changed the name of the company from Filtech to Hamp a while back. So they are the exact same. But you are saying they don’t have them anymore?

Can’t fine the Hemp filters no more or the A01 on amazon. It’s possible maybe eBay but I don’t shop on that site.
I personally will use A02 despite the criticism it faces by people.

Yeah I bought mine on eBay. But yeah the A02 don’t seem bad. They got bigger holes for the oil to flow through I know that. Here is the one I took off my hatchback. Compared to the A01, this A02 looks like better flow design. But of course it depends on the filter media itself. But still don’t seem bad.
