Would these tires work fine with my sedan?

I just got some kind of nail in the shoulder of one of the front wheels and figured it would be best to replace the tire.

Would this tire work fine? Stock tire size is 215/50/17.

But this one has XL (Extra Load) at the end? Would it work just fine?

Eh, you really want to keep the same brand, model and size/load of tires on your car, especially the drive wheels. I would recommend trying to find one of your current tires instead. You can check with Discount Tire or Tire Rack, they both have good pricing and availability too. Local may be better though, if you're on a time constraint.
