Just a Civic fanboy
My first car was my late grandmother's 2nd gen hatch. My grandpa taught me how to drive a manual with it and then gave it to me. It needed a lot of repairs over the years that I daily drove it - it basically sat for years and then was forced back into driving condition on what I suspect was a budget - but I love it to death and still own it. It's sitting in my parents' side yard. I hoped to make it a project weekend car, but I think it's beyond help by now. The mechanical problems are one thing, but the rust on the body is pretty bad.
My next Civic was a black 9th gen LX coupe. Not much to say about that one.
Then I got the 10th gen Si sedan in red and loved it. It has some glaring flaws - ECU rev hang, clutch delay valve, and heavy flywheel - but overall it's a fantastic car that looks good (save for the back bumper on the sedan...) and gets great fuel economy. Also the turbo shove never really gets old. This was going to be my 10 year car, but certain events this year put me in the position to trade up...
Now I have the Type R. I think I'm finally done with the trade game. I want to drive a manual Civic, and this is as good as it gets. Shifts like a dream, and it's fast. Definitely feeling the hit in fuel economy and I know the tires aren't long for this world, but those are sacrifices you gotta make with the R. I also went back to black. Red's my favorite color and the R looks good in red, but... a black Type R
