Best oil is NEW oil (+ new Filter)
I cannot understand changing the oil, and leaving dirty oil in an old filter, just to save $7.

Black is good it means the oil is doing its job of removing deposits...

I've been using Mobil One Extended Performance OW-20 and Honda OEM filters every 5K Miles. Zero issues.

Regardless of what synthetic you go with, make sure it meets the new SN Plus spec, which is supposed to help reduce LSPI.

My order of changes has been: factory fill<honda full synthetic bottled<Mobil 1 extended performance<Royal Purple. All 0w20. The royal purple is quieter for what thats worth and I am probably going to stick with it.

Been using RP for 2 5k intervals now and it's definitely been my favorite. I went factory > castrol gtx platinum > amsoil > RP > RP

I've just switched over to Mobil 1 0W-20 Advanced Fuel Economy as that's what I use in my wife's EX-T. Works well enough and seems to increase mileage a bit. Seems to be well reviewed.

I vote that this thread needs to be converted into a poll before it becomes 50 pages that I don't want to read through ;)
