Report back if you try this one. Considering it myself, as I really like the clean look.

I have this one on my 8th gen: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B4XBQPU/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

That car only has two top mounting holes though.

I've been using it for about a month now, it's great. Took some time to get it on but there's no noise from it when opening and closing the hatch (also using all 4 mounting bolts).

    Hmm, I wonder if anyone makes male gigolo license frames . . . . . . :)

Having an Amateur Tag is interesting. I normally do the speed limit and set the cruise control. Interstate there are 8 lanes. Plenty to the left for high "illegal" speed traffic. I am surprised at how many get really close behind me and are afraid to pass. Like they think I am an under cover cop or something? Odd. Seems to happen at least twice a week. I am not rockin any blue lights. And I have not installed any radios in this car for those who are amateur radio operators. Seems most in my area went to DMR. Very expensive radios and I am mostly HF and CW. But a Tarheel Screwdriver antenna would look sweet on the Civic. Problem is the parking deck.

As far as the plate partially covered. Oh my! If I get a ticket so what. Have not had that problem in GA. Blood sweat and tears to get the CPA. And then to get the CGMA. That means more than the Amateur Radio tag that I pay for as a vanity tag but I have to show my license to renew? It is a vanity tag that used to be free! Because Amateurs help in times of disaster. If you charge me $30 bucks for a vanity tag why do I have to show my Amateur license? It is all on-line they don't even mail you a license anymore.

So yeah. I like to rock the CPA tag. Pass rate is below 50%. My one accomplishment I am most proud of in life. Took it back in the day it was pencil and paper and all four parts at one time. Ticket me and I promise I will write it off on my tax return and my increase in my refund will compensate me for the trouble. Meanwhile, I watch all those driving in the dark with no headlights or rain and no issue. But the God of the mighty plate - well time will tell.

About how far does it stick out past the plate?

I found this one I think I'm going to try: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FFM3HNR

First review I see is on a PMM CTR (same as mine) saying it matches well. Was tempted to see if I could fit both to get the vibration dampening along with the carbon look.

It's fitted to the plate, so it only "sticks out" as far as the material is thick, so maybe a mm or so.

I use this WeatherTech brushed stainless steel acrylic clear cover frame. Keeps the license plates clean (or at least makes cleaning very easy). I got them originally for a 9th Gen Si, but decided to keep them for my CTR. High quality.

Very nice! Are they carbon fiber, or faux? Can you share where you bought these frames please? Thanks!

Found it on the Amazon app...not sure if it is real CF or not, looks good in person tho. Just search “civic type r” and all kinds of sweet swag pops up!
