Meh let's agree to disagree. I pulled a steller trade-in and purchase price. Your numbers are impossible to get to. Hope you enjoy your CTR!

I paid MSRP but they burned me on the trade-in. Only $1800 for a 2013 Chevy Spark with 77000 miles. I put another $11k down.

$403 @ 72 mo @ 3.74% with wheel/tire protection. Hope to pay it off within 48 mo.

Easy to judge others from afar.

Just be happy they chose a fun sporty car over a kitchen appliance like a mustang gt.
Not to mention it has good resale value so unless they paid out their ass they should not be underwater meaning there’s a way out without putting them in a worse spot (or at least in theory).

Did you read that motor trend article? They mentioned resale being insane on this car.

That said, anyone reading this who was under water, buckle down, if you can over pay $20 a month it'll help significantly

I'd refinance ASAP

He implied that he traded in his Si before, when it was worth more. Also, even in this market it's not impossible for a dealer to give you 1k more on trade-in instead of 1k off MSRP (or 2k, or 3k).

BTW, interest rates are at all time lows, you could probably refi your car payment and save a ton of money. I know people who have refinanced twice in the last year. Go for it! (don't wait a year!)

Bought mine at MSRP with $5k down and no trade-in. $592/month for 60 months at 1.9%APR via Honda Financing. Honda also paid the first 2 months because the paperwork took too long. I'm currently paying more to pay it off faster. Planning to pay it off in less than 3 years.

$429/mo, 60 months. Zero down.

Tried to balance monthly payment with overall $ spent on interest. Best balance in my mind was the PenFed Saver loan - lease-like in that it has a balloon to reduce monthly payment, but like a traditional loan in the way interest is accrued.

Probably will sell after around 2 years of ownership, so this was the deal that made the most sense for me. I'll spend about $10.3k in payments, loan value will be a bit under $29k. Figure the car will have ~18k miles and will be worth somewhere between $30-32k depending on how resale values hold up.

I'll sell through my dealership and end up with ~$2500 cash and $2200 in GA tax credit. Net cost per month of around $325 ($233/mo including tax credit) - not bad for a new, warrantied car of this performance level.

I see what ya did there :)

I bought a 2017 back in june 2017. I paid MSRP and at the time regardless if you went through finance you got 4.9 percent. I went 72 months with 7k down and traded a 2015 SI which they gave me 17 for and I can't remember the pay off on it but it was somewhere around 6k I think. The interesting part is they also included at no charge the 10 year extended warranty for free. So that was like 2k for free so in a way I paid 1.3 k under MSRP for my R. I said 1.3 K under because after I sold the Type R they sent me a check for 1.3k as a refund on the warranty I paid nothing for. so I got a heck of a deal at release of the R. and my payments were 306 a month. I paid no ADM or accessories.

I didn't want a big monthly payment. This way I could pay more each month if I want to. I got a HFS loan for $8800 for 60 months. Monthly payment of $163. I'll have a 16 year old in the house come November. Got to be prepared for car insurance hike !!! LOL!!

600/mo for 66 months. Bought the car at retail and added on an extended warranty 100k miles/7 years (tranny issues scared me into one). More or less about 40k price (including registration and taxes) and 5500 down. I guess I could have gotten a slightly better deal.
