so i bought a 17 civic last month and the dealer said it was "new" but it it was a 2017 model it wouldve been made in mid 2016 so how could they claim that its "NEW"? any idea how new applies in dealers lots? is that based on how they get it or if it just has been sitting and not been purchased or driven alot of miles?

new to a dealership is a brand new car . could be a car that never got sold since the next year models came out

New would be based on the fact it had never been titled or sold before. But, if it had a ton of miles and was on the lot for a while it might have been used for a bunch of test drives and such. Still can be sold as "new". I've seen dealers list slow selling two year old+ cars as brand new.

I was glad to only see 6 miles on the odometer when I bought my 10th gen.

128 miles. VIN had HH which i looked up and said it was manufactured aug of 2017 which is actually pretty late for a 17 model. so i guess you could call it new if they didnt receive it til december or later

it's brand new with either a few test drives or a dealer exchange that drove the car to another dealer.

your warranty starts the day you buy the car. You should of gotten a really deep discount on it

120 of the miles could simply be that the dealer made a swap with another dealer 120 miles away.. No worries. Your car is NEW. :)

"New" just meaning it's never been titled, just test-driven or like others said a dealer exchange. No changes b/w 2017 & 2018 - 2019 just added a volume knob, really - so at $5k off you did good IMO. In the used market, you'd be paying more than that.

yeah i did my research and was glad i bought a 17 because its an upper trim and i got it probably for less than i wouldve gotten an 18 at a lower ex or ex-t trim. i love my car

You got a nice price. I paid nearly $2,000 more for my 2017 EX-L sedan. Then again, I bought mine in May of 2017. :p

you got a great deal...best time to get a car is when they are getting rid of the inventory at the end of the year and want the new models to come in. In my case I bought the last 2018 Si sedan at my dealer in November. Went back a few times saw no more Si's on the lot. When i got mine they had a silver and black coupe with mine. I went just last Saturday and they have a 19 Sedan Si there now...with GY Eagle F1's  Should have at least exchanged for those tires.

My Touring had 7 km on it... just over 4 miles.
I saw the delivery paperwork; it arrived at the dealer not 24 hours before I bought it.
