Wanting a new build and saw the m&m widebody for 99-2000 Civic hatches.

I do not know exactly what model it needs. It only says ek. Is that a model? I'm not too familiar with the Honda nomenclature. Here is the car, what model is it??

EK is the code for that year of Civic hatch. It is an EK civic. Just like the current hatch is called "FK7'. Google Civic EK hatch and you'll see what I mean.

So a 99 CX hatchback is an EK?
The widebody kit says 99-2000 EK hatchback. So if I bought a 99 CX, that kit would be compatible? According to the info given?

It is a 99-00 Civic hatch. Doesn't matter what trim it's the same car just different levels of trim.

FWIW Honda's are generally known by their chassis code which is part of the VIN number.

To be fair, even though different bodies have different chassis codes in their VIN they are generally known by the code performance version of the generation

92-95 civic = EG because EG6 SiR hatchback
96-00 civic = EK because EK9 CTR
94-01 integra = DC because DC2 GS-R and later ITR

It's convenient to use the chassis codes because for the most part performance modifications can be used across the whole platform. The exceptions are the body parts, which should make sense. Good examples of shared parts are: suspension, engine mounts, fuel system, etc. Parts that generally require you to check the specific chassis are: cat backs (length issues), front bumpers, lights and fenders, etc.

I hope that explains it better for you.
