What’s in my wheels??

So I just Traded my 17 civic hatchback in for a 2020 Civic Sport and put new tires on it cause I hate goodyears (and I work at a tire store) so it was dirt cheap lol but I have never seen these inside of a tire before in my 7 years working with tires. What are they and what do they do?

its to reduce noise supposedly. I had the same question when i changed the tire on my ILX a while back and searched it up.

I’ve seen the foam in the tires before but never anything mounted to the actual wheel before

yeah, my friend whos been working at a tire place for a while hasn't seen them till he dismounted my ilx wheels also.

noise reduction, teslas have foam in the wheels that do something similar
