I was leaning toward 18" wheels and new 18" tires but then life got in the way. All of the sudden my washing machine went belly up and I had to buy a new one. Truth is, spending $1500 on a new set of tires and wheels is really pushing it on my budget. So, I think my best bet is using those Nokian zLine A/S UHP's I already bought (215/50-17) and getting some good looking 17's. The Nokians are certainly grippier than my Firestones and supposedly ride smoother and quieter as well. Or maybe just go with my original plan and keep the stock wheels and put the Nokians on those.

My search led me to the Sparco Trofeo 5 (17x7.5). Everything I've read says this is a solid brand (OZ's bargain division).and here's a pic of the wheels photoshopped on my car.

I was very similar, although really the biggest issue I’m running into are soccer season tickets going up AND potholes so I went with 17” Draco instead of 18s. I’ll post pics on Friday but I think I’ll be happy. While 18s are sick, 17s are underrated

Well, I've been looking long and hard for a long time and I'm most likely going with the Enkei Draco in anthracite in a conservative 18x8 +45 size.

Here's a pic of that size and color on a 10th gen sedan:

Good choice!
A friend of mine just went with a somewhat similar wheel.

I've was interested in those but the weight listed at Discount Tire seemed way too high. Something like 26 lbs. which seemed wrong.

Did he happen to weigh those?

Nope. He did get them from Discount Tire. His paperwork says the wheels are 26.4lbs and the tires are 22lbs. That's pretty heavy.

I think the Dracos are more like 21.5 pounds. I'm also going for 225/45 tires versus the more typical 235/40 for two reasons. I deal with occasional snow and the roads here are rough. A slightly narrower tire with more sidewall should help a bit.

Tire Rack actually recommends 215/45's to keep speedo accuracy but I wonder if that would have a slightly stretched look? I'd go with that size if people think they'd fit OK. I'm not worried about having a wide tire. Plus they'd be cheaper and lighter.
