Lol, I put down "very aggressive" for driving style, though I might start a step lower if I don't get a chance to drive the road myself beforehand

for 11 miles straight would take a lot of focus. Dashcam doesn't really give you a good sense of speed though.
Adam, nice clip,decent sound too.

Exactly how many cases of empty glass milk bottles did you have in the back?

Canā€™t figure out what else it could be as my Tooth fillings (Just have one tooth otherwise would have said teeth) donā€™t make that noise on the one curvy road in all of boring FL.

Beware of Sasquatch If doing late night runs, Iā€™ll go by that museum enroute, gotta check it out just for the furry slippers.

Note: Furry locals in sleeveless flannel arenā€™t Sasquatch but they have been known to carjack diesel pickups and drive over Type Rs.

Also, if anyone from say North of the Mason-Dixon Line attends, even though you may want to, DONā€™T put sugar on grits. NC is one of four states left with some draconian laws:
1) If involved in an auto accident and you did anything that would find you even 1% responsible for you or your occupants injuries by your negligence or contributory actions, the party 99% responsible doesnā€™t pay your medical bills, your own insurance does. Weā€™re fighting something related to this law from being rear ended approaching Biltmore in Asheville for vacay last summer. I stopped b/c guy in front stopped completely due to wreck in front of him I couldnā€™t see. Other party claims my sudden stop right at guy in fronts bumper contributed to my familyā€™s injuries, WTH? We want them to cover the entire bald spot... let me rephrase that. We want them toupee for it all as we were stopped for several seconds then hit from behind, causing being propelled into vehicle in front (no damage or injury to anything or anyone in front of us).

2) Sugar on grits is punishable as death by hanging without any trial, just need three witnesses, find a tree and fetch some rope, they donā€™t discriminate as to all the usuals. Iā€™m just saying yā€™all, teas is sweet or unsweetened, grits can get salt, pepper, even ketchup or hot sauce, they ainā€™t oatmeal or farina. Not all them markers on the tail is from crashes, artificial sweeteners=genuine rope.

. That metallic "tonk" sound is my big ass Hydroflask rolling around over on the floor in the passenger seat. Audio on the camera isn't great, it works acceptably lol. With dashcam, radar detector, phone mount, and anything loose in the console or doors I always get an annoying buzzing sound when I'm flooring it. Though in the moment I don't notice it since I'm in focus on flying.

Speaking of radar detectors, looking at the routes to get over there to NC, it looks like I can't avoid going through Virginia without adding a crazy amount of miles. How anal are the LEOs about detectors. I know they were illegal or some bs awhile ago, probably still are. I drove through VA on one of my journeys between where I was stationed at Ft. Carson and home to avoid a snowstorm up North and it seemed like people only went either 5 over, or 20.

Over double the speed limit on the skyway to me was beyond moderate.
Yeah, most roads/highways the limits are way too low, though I'm sure they're made mainly with trucks and commercial vehicles in mind. Over double the limit on a road with a ton of curves and elevation changes plus blind turns can be very sketchy, come flying around the bend to find someone broke down/crashed or a family of deer crossing. I've had a bunch of close calls with deer around here, in my Si I hit one going to work one morning. Luckily it only bent the license plate somehow. Saw him dart across when he was 10 feet away and in my headlights, so I quickly swerved towards the direction he came from and just grazed them.

In my Type R I already hit a stupid suicidal fox, my front lip spoiler and a little off the bumper trim is messed up now. Luckily you can't really tell unless you get real close to it down low.

Not sure if you went last year... I had. I was fine pushing my Si reasonably hard on the Dragon. The straights were so short... you couldn't build a substantial amount of speed... and holding a fair clip in the turns while staying in your lane made for a fun run with the cars sticking together. I felt comfortable on the Dragon doing the intermediate group with my wife and 3 young kids in the car... they had a blast. My oldest threw up laughing from the constant cornering (no joke). We had a bag of puke to throw away at the pull-off when we were done. We had done the Dragon a couple times before the morning run after the photo... but we hit it much harder that day.

The skyway's max speed limit was 40 MPH... with long straights and long sweeping curves with random hairpins thrown in around rockfaces that are blind. Once I was approaching at the top of 3rd within the first couple miles... I decided I would not try to stay with the car in front of me. I think I was the 4th or 5th in the line and become the new leader as the front group pulled right away. I hate to just poke around and not drive a little aggressively... but I hope there's an more... well... "moderate" moderate group. Staying WOT on long straights or sweeping curves get the speeds up to levels I'm just uncomfortable with, though taking corners and giving it a little speed on the straights is fine with me. I'd of had to be well into 4th to keep up with the car in front of me. When 4 other souls rely on you to keep them safe, and I'd have to answer for doing double-plus the speed limit if I got picked up by a cop back at work (I'm a senior chief in the navy) ...it's a bit much. (shrug)

I didn't buy mine until memorial day so this is my first year. 3rd gear is the sweet spot usually in tight bends, second is too short and spinny. 3rd is good for 45-80mph ( really picks up around 60, you can tell you're at peak torque around 50-55 as the wheels will slip) and you get to the top of it fast. My tires aren't technically the greatest for this sort of thing Michelin pilot sport a/s 3+ though I swear they handle better than the stock wheel tire setup. They're 265 (really measure out to 270) and on much lighter wheels. If it's warm and dry it's crazy how much speed I can carry through tight turns. I've already replaced my rear pads somewhat recently, still on oem fronts. Still have a few millimeters on them until the metal band starts hitting. Might order some to have on hand just in case.

I feel you on being in the Navy. When I was in the army I got a ticket and had to take this stupid driving class... In my dress uniform.

I'm pretty sure at where I'm at in life/rank and the culture that exists now, I'd get retired if I got a ticket for something deemed reckless. Maybe when I for-real-retire from the navy I can dust off the Z and do a just-the-wife-and-me trip. I figure I probably won't make the next 3-4 years since I get off shore duty late this year. By then, the Z will be around 30 years old. I mentioned to the old lady they look to be coming out with what should be another 300z(x) maybe in 2022 using their twin turbo VR30 motor. She said I could get it... but I should get rid of the '94... and I don't know that I can do it. They haven't shown a concept yet and if Nissan holds true to form over the last decade... it'll be hideous.

Senior Chief? That's equivalent to Master sergeant/first sergeant in Army/Marines. Had to look it up since I don't really know the Navy and air Force ranks. That means you've been in for awwhhiille. You still have 4 years until 20? The Navy just looking to chapter senior enlisted out or something? That sucks. My contract was 3 years and 16 weeks for a cavalry scout. I almost made the mistake of re enlisting as our first sergeant was hounding/pressuring me to do it. Plus trying to get me to warrior leaders course and groom me to be an nco. I didn't want that kind of responsibility, was an E-4. Both the best and worse rank in the army, specialist and corporal respectively. Been there long enough to know what you're doing, and as long as you're in great shape, can do your job well, and shoot well you're golden. Get to fraternize with the nco's and be there go to to get things done. Only really had to watch over the privates in my Platoon and section. They don't call the insignia the sham shield for nothing lol. So I didn't really want to be an NCO and didn't want to be one of those guys who stay E-4 forever, so I was like naaahhh I'm out.

I thought there was a concept picture of the new Z? Might have been something unofficial or just someone's rendering I saw

Adam,
Retired AF here@25 yrs, Still involved is ā€˜bout all I wannaā€™ say here.

In VA detectors are illegal, can be fined, confiscated but not likely. Itā€™d be good to take it down just prior and turn it off. I was there four months in ā€˜19. Forgot to turn mine off (it defaults on at start and found even with it out of view, truckers just keep theirs on but not viz. Advanced police radars can detect some and can play a little cat-mouse-gotcha game so if on, donā€™t be surprised if they ask where it is along with lic&reg read of this, not first hand exp). Mine can alert falsely on other detector I.F. Emmisions and using spectrum analyzer display and directional indications , it showed me this, kept it off unplugged after, not worth losing $600 Max 360 plus ticket fines.

I have a large Tonka black window sticker if youā€™d like to make ā€˜Tonkā€™ sound a real thing? Wife mandated withholdings if placed on Ridgeline. Iā€™m not crazy about giving it away but might swap for refreshing non -alc beverage.

My recordings up there might have subtle clanking of golf club heads

The military has been zero-defect for awhile. You donā€™t really get to do anything wrong in your personal or professional life... they just replace you.

Hereā€™s one from a couple weeks ago. No one really learns and grows from errors... because youā€™re gotten rid of unless youā€™re pretty junior. Itā€™s sad... but itā€™s how things are. Itā€™s been a long time coming.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/taskandpurpose.com/watch-the-f-a-18-flyover-that-cost-a-marine-squadron-commander-his-job-2644999693.amp.html

Itā€™ll be 18 this coming October. Made chief (E7) in 8 years and some change. Took that long again to get the next one. A very long 8 years. Glad you got out if itā€™s what you wanted. Thereā€™s still a big chunk of me that loves it, though many days I donā€™t really like it... if that makes sense. I see this next tour as my last hurrah. I never thought Iā€™d make 7 and I did. Never thought Iā€™d make 8 and they finally saw it fit to give it to me after years of eligibility. I doubt Iā€™ll make 9 and, if I do... unless they let me kick babies and kiss ass or vice verse at the shore duty of my choice, Iā€™ll probably ride off in the sunset from a sea tour.

Thanks! Last year I got 2 Adult Larges and 3 Youth Larges. Iā€™d like the same if itā€™s possible. Iā€™ll just put Large on all 5 registrations and keep my fingers crossed. Thanks, Corey. Registering today...
