The 2018 Accord will be coming with the 1.5T and 2.0T, both with a 6MT option.

Basically, you can get an Accord with the (probably) the SI engine, or you could get one with a detune Type R engine.

I'm assuming the price will be more, but, sheesh you could basically build a Type R Accord.

The 2.0T will likely come with 260/270HP stock but I'd guess any upgrades available for the Type R would match up and you'd be able to tune over 300HP out of the Accord.

I may have to trade up depending on what it looks like...

I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm not at least somewhat interested to see what Honda has for us with the new Accord platform.

I was just thinking that when the first drives came in for the 2018 accord. My only issue is how much the 2.0T would be and if it would be available in sedan form. The current 8th gen, the V6 with 6MT is only available in the coupe.

Yeah I would not consider a coupe right now. It would have to be a good looking sedan that light on it's feet. Probably wishful thinking. I don't have a problem with my Civic but more power and a little more room would not be anything to complain about either.

I'm definitely going to trade my Touring for the 2.0T 10Speed AT next year. But on the off chance that the reviews say that the current gen's V6 still ride better then I'll just go ahead and get a used 9.5 V6.

If honda brings back a 6sp manual for the sedan on the 2.0t sign me up! The 06-07 accord sedans with the V6-6spds were sweet cars

They are. The 2.0T will be available in 6MT OR a 10-Speed AT transmission.

yep, SI didn't get me out of my EXT, but 2.0t/6mt accord sedan possibly could! I know it is highly unlikely to happen but an accord "sport" w/ an LSD would be nice. although who knows if they again make the sport it might be the base 1.5T like the sport now has the base engine...

2.0t + 6 Speed may be a problem. A good one. Revs to 7k and apparently will have more power then the v6 but less then the Type R (290?) The Turbo, LSD, and single mass flywheel can all be swapped in from the FK8 and they'll share the aftermarket. But given these cars are on the same chassis, I'm hopeful the front suspension are interchangeable. Torque steer is infuriating on my car and the dual axis strut would quell that. If so, this may be next for me.

Waiting to see the final (non-camouflaged) look of the 2018 Accords. Also, need to see how these 2.0 setups in the CTR pan out - I expect we'll hear about at least a couple of recalls, and a few more well-known annoyances this year.

A powerful, reliable, 6MT Accord will definitely have me in a dilemma of what to buy. With the talk of performance and handling comparisons in here, I think we need to also remember how much nicer the Accord interiors are as well. :p:drive:

I was really excited when I found out the new accord with the 2.0T was going to be offered in a manual but then I came to earth and realized it would most likely be in the Coupe as the replacement for the V6 only not in the Sport Sedan which I would love to see. I would love it if they could better option their accord sport.

Rumor has it that they wont have a coupe anymore meaning there might be a 2.0t 6spd sedan available when it comes out :bow::bow:
