It was exciting combination to buy a Civic Type-R AND have it be 5x120. This meant I could contact my favorite wheel manufacturer in the country who I have had a dealer account with for many years and ask about a set for my new Type-R. Matt @ VMR is knowledgeable, helpful and definitely a car guy. While most of our conversations revolved around making sure customers received what they wanted, we had opportunities to geek out about other things.

On to the wheels. As always, they came flawless and fit perfectly flush. They clear the Brembos and provide a nice alternative look to the factory wheels (which I also like). I chose Continental DWS tires for the time being due to Michigan being Michigan and there is immense grip with 275/35R18 tires. We had a couple warmer dry pavement days so it was nice to feel the difference between 245s and 275s.

Thanks again Matt @ VMR!

Looks good! No rubbing issues with the 275? What offset and stock height?

As of right now I plan on getting 265/35/18 but 275/35/18 is tempting. Just don't want any rubbing issue on a 9.5 +45 offset rim I am going to have.

VMR specifically chose the offset +45 and width for no fitment issues. The wheels are 18x9.5 +45. 275s have no rubbing issues. Stock height.

The width of the tire provides the difference as well as a more square shoulder. It has a more instant steering input now with less roll.

I am getting my V701's here in a few weeks which will basically complete the forum as my Type R is red. We'll have every color with a set except metallic grey metal? I want to run the 275x35R18 in the summer but can and have you fit a 245 for the winter? what size should I be looking for as a nice winter tire?

I ordered Pirelli Sottozero 3's in a 245/40R18 to be fitted on VMR v701's. Thanks for the help!

Where did you find the size chart?
