Ok so i was looking for some aftermarket brake pads for my EDM FC1 Sedan 1.5T .
Asked the European dealer from Dixcel and Spoon and they said Euro and japan spec brake pads are different cause they use different brake calipers and rotors in Europe. Japan's FK7/FC1 uses Akebono brake calipers and pads , euro fk7/fc1 uses ATE calipers and brake pads .Well this was new to me ,I always thought the EDM FK7/FC1 had the same 280mm rotors as the USDM's have .Apparently not...
I also just found out the Euro spec FK7 /FC1 has 293 x 25mm Front brake Rotors ,these are larger then the Us Spec FK7 /FC1.These are the same from the previous generation EDM Civic Tourer 2014-2017 which had 293x25 front and 276x10 rear. Why Honda has done this i can't really know ,but it looks like the ATE calipers and pads are smaller which would require a slightly larger rotor to have the same brake capacity as the Akebono brake system with 280mm rotors and bigger brake pads...? Dowside for the EDM market is there is very little aftermarket support for brake pads/Rotors .Only EBC makes green stuff and yellow stuff pads right now .Plus side is bigger rotors .
EDM Front Brake pads and discs
JDM Front brake pads
USDM brake pads
