Unlocking Ktuner v1.2 with TunerView App

I apologize if this has been answered previously. I searched and didn't come up with anything.

What is the process to unlock the Ktuner v1.2 with TunerView app and a desktop computer (not near the car)? I remember that there was a multi-step process to lock it. I don't recall how to unlock it.

Can I just flash back to stock, connect the unit to my desktop, and unlock it from the application?

The V1.2 locking and unlocking requires a laptop. Specific directions are in the online help in the V1.2 section.

@KTuner I forgot to ask if you have any update on if/when we will be able to lock/unlock from the TunerView app. I seem to remember you mentioning that you were working on this.

The app isn't capable of this. If we're able to figure out a way at a later date to unlock without the vehicle then we can have it handle this from a desktop.

Is it possible to lock and unlock using the V2 only? I understand the 1.2 requires a laptop but is it the same case with V2? Trying to decide between the two. Thanks!!

The V2 locks and unlocks from the unit itself. It can then be used with a desktop or laptop to upload tunes to storage slots.
