FYI:

30,995 GBP = $40,178.66 USD
32,995 GBP = $42,771.25 USD

UK 2017 Honda Civic EX Hatch starts at 23,200 GBP ($30,076.48)
USA 2017 Honda Civic EX Hatch starts at $22,800 (17,587.16 GBP)

$30,076.48 - $22,800.00 = $7,276.48

30,995 GBP = $40,178.66 - $7,276.48 = $32,902.18 (Adjusted Calculated Conversion)
32,995 GBP = $42,771.25 - $7,276.48 = $35,494.77 (Adjusted Calculated Conversion)

Since we are getting the higher trim for 2017 it should be smack dab in the middle as everyone expects.

My money is on it starting at $34,995.

And so goes the story of how everyone bought a focus RS. Yah it better be mid 35k and not 40k+

UK price likely includes the tax.

US should see pricing today or tomorrow, expecting $34k.
You just taught me something!

"On-the-road price (OTR) is the price that you pay for a new car - ready to drive away - and includes the additional costs of first registration fee, number plates and your first year's road tax."

It might possibly be cheaper! :)

London has a 20% Value Added Tax that we do not pay here.
32,995 x .80 = 26,396
26,396 British pounds = 34,203 US dollars

This is right where Honda indicated & "confirmed" by JYR, so I'd put money on it.

Soon to be FK8.
We typically pay much more for all sorts of products here in the UK than you would in the US if you just do a straight currency conversion of Sterling to USD, partly due to additional expenses like taxes, partly due to companies charging whatever they think the market will bear (apparently we're all gullible here). SkyeHack's approach is the one that seems more likely to give you a good idea of US pricing, comparing pricing of other models between UK and US then applying that difference to the UK price, which puts the CTR somewhere in the mid-30k range for the US. A price that's just where various people from Honda have hinted it would be (mid-30s), which seems unlikely to be a coincidence!

As it happens, Honda UK were previously saying the GT version might be as much as £35k here, so it's actually a bit cheaper than expected. Maybe they were just managing expectations so we'd all be pleasantly surprised when the final price came out! I'm certainly happy with that figure. I just hope they're doing the same with delivery dates and the car turns up sooner than forecast (August/September).
