Yes, this is exactly what I meant! Thank you for a better explanation, Flat
http://www.kahtec.com/products.htm

I use the delay version for all my cars for the third brake light. It would be nice if the delay version can be implemented in your bulbs. Bulbs blinking all the time during stop and go traffic can be annoying to the eyes so a delay of 6-8 seconds before the cycle resets:

“Blinking Smart Stop Delay is the same as the standard unit but with a "Delay-Repeat" circuit built in, Delay version was specially designed for those drivers who might not want to continuously flash their third brake light, when caught in bumper to bumper traffic. Once you have applied your brakes for the first time causing your third brake light to flash and then turn solid, touching your brakes again within 8 seconds will cause your third brake light to turn on normally without flashing. In other words, you must have your foot off the brakes for more than 8 seconds before the Blinking Smart Stop will reset and cause your third brake light to flash again“

Are they legal ?
In California, I've literally had CHP behind me and see them flash as I brake. Never pulled over for them. I got pulled over for something else once and the CHP asked about the lights. I said they were for my safety. He asked if it worked and I said "So far, I've avoided being rear-ended twice because blinking lights get attention". He said "Hmmm" and that was it.

I had this on my 03 Cobra, but it would only flash the CHMSL, and if you took your foot off the brake, it took 60 seconds for it to start the flashing pattern again. Specifically like someone said, sitting in stop and go traffic, a constant flashing brake light is annoying as hell. ;)

But yes, I'd be interested. If it only did the 3rd lamp.

Thanks for the link... this was the one I was using before, but couldn't find the company.

Hey everyone. Thanks for the interest! We've completed a sample and tested.

Color : RED
Flashing duration: 2.5~ seconds. About 6-7 flashes
After the flashes it will go Solid and stay solid until next activation.

During traffic, it will stay solid and flash again for the 2.5~ seconds.
We believe this is OK as sometimes the driver behind you may not be paying attention and inch forward slowly without knowing you had stopped again.

We are working on the same model for the coupe as well. A few test samples will be given out to some testers and we will await feedback.

Then we will go into producing more.

Thanks again everyone!
