I experience the same rattle I thought it was the metal sheet on top of the muffler but its not.Just picked up my type r. Was number 15xxx. Whenever I go over a bump at say over 30mph and it’s a decent road bump crack I hear a rattle from hatch area. Almost sounds like it’s coming from below the hatch locking mechanism. Car has 150 miles on it. Really disappointed in the quality of the rear of this car.
I tore apart the rear trunk liner and drove around and still heard the rattle. Anyone else experience this. Normal driving doesn’t present the noise.
Thanks will try it tomorrow.Hey Gents
You can try twisting the two black bumpstops on the hatch. This was causing the hatch rattle to a few owners over here and it worked for them. Bit of trial and error either tighten or loosen
Buddy thank you so much rattle is 100% gone!Hey Gents

I'll take one later after work, but as sean mentioned, if you open your hatch and you have the upper part of the hatch in your hand with it opened all the way, look up at it and on each side left/right you will see a black rubber stopper. I just unscrewed my a bit yesterday and it fixed the issue I had.Can you guys provide a picture of those bump stops?
That sucks. I adjusted mine once about 3 years ago and am still goodDid anyone have a permanent fix? I had this problem but have to adjust now and then coz it goes back to rattling
